University of Iowa projects

As part of my Archiving Women’s History course in fall 2022, I visited the Iowa Women’s Archive and explored the files of Judy Klemesrud, a University of Iowa alumna who went on to spend 19 years at The New York Times covering women’s issues in the style section. This digital archive project explores themes of women in media, both as female journalists themselves and as subjects in the news.

A multimedia package about students of color and international students finding community at the University of Iowa. Multimedia elements featured include website design, data visualization, photo galleries, and audio. The photos and footage come from several different peers in my class, as it was a collaborative project, but the selection, editing, writing, data visualization, and audio editing are my own.

This simple website holds the projects from my sophomore year journalism class, where I was taught introductory photo, video, and audio editing. My two major projects were a video features local business Home Ec, and a multimedia package on recycling services in Johnson County.
